Killarney to host Opel enthusiasts’ road run
Kerry-based Opel and Vauxhall enthusiasts will meet in Killarney next month ahead of their annual road run.
The Opel/Vauxhall Run Kerry and the additional Manta Fest 2023 will start from the Killarney Heights Hotel on May 14 at 9am.
Once all drivers are signed on they will head off on a tour of famous South Kerry rally roads.
The event was originally supposed to run on May 7 but there is a potential clash with a Munster final in Killarney so it was decided to move it out one week.
The route includes Moll’s Gap, Ballaghbeama Gap and Caragh Lake.
Last year the event attracted nearly 80 cars but with the addition of the Manta Fest that figures is likely to be exceeded this year.
“We are hoping to have the most amount of Opel Mantas in the one place,” said local Opel enthusiast Paul Horan.
Donations will be made on the day to a yet to be nominated charity.
