Daffodil Day at Holy Cross Mercy School
Pupils and staff of Holy Cross Mercy School wore yellow today (Friday) to mark Daffodil Day in support of the Irish Cancer Society.
With Lent in full swing, a special dispensation was granted to all celebrating 'Lá Buí' with treats and daffodils shared in each class. The school’s red and grey was replaced with vibrant yellow; featuring beautiful artwork from all of the pupils based on the daffodil theme.
All proceeds of the fundraiser were donated to the Irish Cancer Society. Holy Cross Mercy Principal, Alice Davern expressed thanks to all families in the school community for their “generous donations to this wonderful cause”.
"Thanks also to the coordinators of the day, Ciara Spillane and Mairéad Kennedy. We are extremely grateful to all at the Irish Cancer Society for their wonderful work," she said.
