Man dies following road traffic accident
A man, aged in his 30s, has died following a road traffic accident which occurred yesterday evening (Wednesday).
Gardaí attended the scene of the fatal single vehicle collision which happened at approximately 6pm on the N71, Kenmare to Bantry Road at Drominassig.
The driver of the car was rushed to Cork University Hospital where he later passed away from his injuries. A post-mortem will now take place in due course.
A technical examination of the scene by Garda Forensic Collision investigators is set to take place this morning (Thursday). The road is currently closed, with local diversions currently in place.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward and any road users with video footage (including dash cam) are asked to make this available to them.
