Home and business owners in the Deerpark area can expect water disruption works over the next few days.

Uisce Éireann, working in partnership with Kerry County Council, will carry out essential water main upgrade works to safeguard the local water supply.

The works are scheduled to take place tomorrow (Wednesday) from 7pm until 10am, and on Thursday, (February 16).

During the works, customers in Killarney town, specifically along Fairhill Park Road, St Brendan’s Place, Daltons Avenue, Marian Terrace, Bishop Moynihan’s Crescent, O’Kelly’s Villas, O’Sullivan’s Place, Sunnyhill Upper, Sunnyhill Lower, O’Sullivan’s Place, Mangerton View, Rock Road, Oakwood Retirement Village, New Road, Port Road, St Margaret’s Road, Millwood, Coolegrean Park, High Street, Msgr O’Flaherty Road, St Mary’s Road, Friary Downs, Friary Court, Burr Ridge, Ardshanvooly, Sáil Árdán, Dennehy’s Bohereen, Park Road and surrounding areas, may experience temporary low pressure and/or water outages.

Crews will make every effort to minimise the disruption to impacted customers and will work to complete these works as quickly and as safely as possible. It typically takes two to three hours following restoration time for the network to refill and normal water supply to fully return.

These works are being carried out as part of Uisce Éireann’s national Leakage Reduction Programme. The works, which are near completion at Deerpark, involve the replacement of approximately 1,200 metres of old trunk water mains with new modern pipes. Replacing these aged trunk water mains will reduce the drinking water lost by leakage and will bring an all-round improvement to water quality for the community.

The Uisce Éireann customer care helpline is open 24/7 on 1800 278 278 and customers can also contact us on Twitter @IWCare with any queries.

Updates can be found on the Uisce Éireann Supply and Service map by entering the following reference number in the search bar on water.ie: KER00059005.

larney will focus on the vital role of sleep in cardiac and mental health at its next community meeting on February 24.
The event, held at the Parish Centre on Park Road, features guest speaker Dr Anna O’Sullivan, a Senior Clinical Psychologist with the HSE.
Following her previous popular sessions with the group, Dr O’Sullivan will return to provide a deep dive into the neuroscience of sleep.
The talk will explore why rest is a cornerstone of physical and mental well-being and how sleep requirements shift throughout various life stages, from childhood and the teenage years to parenthood, perimenopause, and older adulthood.
Attendees can expect practical advice on managing common sleep difficulties and strategies for improving sleep quality. Dr O’Sullivan will also outline simple self-care actions that can maintain or enhance long-term sleeping habits, as well as the long-term impacts of insufficient rest.
The meeting begins at 8:00 pm at the Parish Centre and is open to all members of the community. A question-and-answer session will follow the presentation, and the evening will conclude with light refreshments and an opportunity for attendees to chat.
