Arrest made in Miriam Burns murder case

Gardai have arrested a man in his 50s in connection with the death of Miriam Burns.

.

Ms Burns (75) was found dead in her Ardshanavooley home on August 15 last year.

Gardaí investigating discovered Ms Burns body “in unexplained circumstances” have, today (Wednesday), arrested a man.

He is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a Garda station in Cork city.

A Garda spokesperson said that “investigations are ongoing".

A proposal to investigate the development of a state-of-the-art immersive simulator experience showcasing Kerry’s iconic scenic locations is set to be discussed by Kerry County Council.

Councillor Tommy Cahill will put forward a motion today, Friday, at the Ordinary December Meeting of Kerry County Council, asking the local authority to explore the feasibility of the attraction.
The motion requests that Kerry County Council “liaise with Fáilte Ireland, the Department of Tourism, and all relevant stakeholders to investigate the feasibility of developing a state-of-the-art immersive simulator experience.”
The aim of the simulator would be to enable visitors to feel as though they are flying through and experiencing Kerry’s most iconic scenic locations and visitor attractions, similar to ultra-modern versions available in other parts of the world.

The Art House has launched its first Kids and Teens Art Exhibition this week, showcasing the work of over 100 young artists from the local community.

The exhibition, which the Art House hopes to make an annual event, features creations made during the September to December term.
The opening night was held on Thursday this week, from 8.00 am to 5:30 pm at the Department of Culture, Communications & Sport building on New Road, next door to The Art House.
Art Director Tracy Cronin said she was “excited to announce that The Art House will be hosting a kids and teens Art Exhibition this December, showcasing the incredible work created during our September to December term,”
Kerry Arts Officer Kate Kennelly opened the massive event, with musical performances provided by teen musicians from the Killarney School of Music.
The exhibition is now open to the public and runs until January 5.
