New Killarney guided walk to launch in New Year

By Sean Moriarty
A new guided walking tour will be launched in Killarney in time for next year’s tourist season.
The walk will be led by a group of experienced tour guides who have completed a Kerry ETB course.
The walk, which should be up and running by the end of February, will start and finish at the court house.
It will visit the railway station, the Great Southern Killarney, Killarney House and Gardens, Deenagh Lodge and St Mary’s Cathedral before returning to the court house via the town centre.
Fossa man Dermot McGuckin is the Public Relations Director for the new walk.
“The plans are in the very early stages,” he told the Killarney Advertiser.
“It is aimed, primarily, at tourists. There are successful walking tours in Derry, West Cork and Dublin, why not Killarney?”
