After 12 years in High Street, the Killarney Advertiser is moving to KC Print.

CLOSING: The Sam McGuire made a special visit to the Killarney Advertiser office on High Street this week. Pictured is Senior Kerry Football Manager Jack O’Connor with Editor Michelle Crean in what is the last official photo in the office.

NEW LOCATION: The Killarney Advertiser will move to its new location at sister company KC Print in Upper Lissivigeen.

The ‘Advertiser’ is relocating just 10 minutes from High Street to Upper Lissivigeen.

Killarney’s ‘Favourite Friday Read' is heading towards its 50th birthday next March and the move ensures that it will continue to be the leading local publication in town.

The ‘Advertiser’ team consistently looks to improve the magazine every week and change with the times. During COVID the ‘Advertiser’ invested in its technology and website to maintain its service to customers and readers.

Enhancements to our online booking portal for anniversaries and classifieds means many customers can place their notice from any tablet, phone or laptop.

"The town centre office will be missed. Relocating to our sister company is going to be great with designers, journalists, and printers all under the one roof. It will also assist with our focus on being more environmentally friendly,” Aidan Quirke, General Manager, said.

KC Print, located in a state-of-the-art purpose-built production site in Upper Lissivigeen, is one Ireland's leading trade printers with 30 staff producing a range of magazines, books, stationary and menus.

"It’s an exciting move for us. To have the creators and the production team together will give more flexibility on how we deliver Killarney’s No. 1 weekly read. We also want to thank our readers and advertisers for their continued support.”

The new office also has ample parking for customers. Our online booking system for anniversaries and classifieds is available on our website. www.killarneyadvertiser.ie.

Our customer service team is led by Elaine Shine and she is available by telephone and email to assist customers with their queries and placement of anniversaries.

Demands to end to traffic chaos at St Oliver’s

While the inclusion of St Oliver’s National School in the National Development Plan is welcomed, Mayor Martin Grady insists that chronic traffic concerns must be addressed immediately.

The Killarney Municipal District recently passed a motion urging the Department of Education to prioritise the Ballycasheen project to resolve “gridlock” and safety risks.
With over 700 pupils and 100 staff, the lack of dedicated drop-off zones has led to dangerous congestion. Mayor Grady, who has witnessed the situation firsthand, is demanding the delivery of parking and pick-up facilities.
“As a parent who drops children to the school myself, I see the chaos every morning and afternoon,” Mayor Grady stated. He warned that the current “unsafe and unfair” situation has already caused minor accidents and numerous near misses.

Employees at the National Shared Services Office (NSSO) and the Department of Justice in Killarney have raised more than €2,300 for the Kerry Hospice Foundation following a successful workplace fundraiser.

The bake sale was held recently at the NSSO offices, where staff from both government departments contributed to the significant total.

All proceeds from the event will go directly toward supporting the palliative care services provided by the foundation across the county.

The fundraiser was timed to coincide with the lead-up to the Kerry Hospice Foundation’s annual Good Friday Walk, which is set to take place throughout Kerry today (Friday, April 3).
Representatives from the Kerry Hospice Foundation visited the office this week to accept the donation and thanked the staff for their generosity and effort in supporting the local charity.
