Teens shocked as Hollywood A-Lister turns up to class
By Michelle Crean
Teens certainly didn't have to act shocked when they got a surprise Hollywood visitor this week during their drama workshops - as their surprise was very real!
Michael Fassbender, known for movie roles 'Inglourious Basterds', '12 Years A Slave' and 'Hunger' unexpectedly turned up to his West End House School of Arts on Friday and again on Monday to offer the teens some top tips.
Martin O'Brien, Manager of the West End House School of Arts said Michael taught the Screen Acting for Teens class each day.
"There was great excitement," he told the Killarney Advertiser.
"Along with tutors Gemma Doorly and Jimmy Walker, Michael taught the Screen Acting for Teens class each day. He had a wealth of knowledge and advice to offer on acting and acting careers, and the day ended with a Q&A session and quite a few selfies being taken. He joined them in a few scenes and gave a lot of independent feedback on both days."
He added that Michael is very personable and that "what you see is what you get, he was very down to earth".
Martin added that the workshops are proving very popular and included writing scripts, how to create a performance and how to perform in scenes which instils confidence, particularly in that age group.
"The one thing I hear parents keeps saying is the confidence the classes give. They had a great time, it's a very educational and fun environment."
