Stage set for musical soceiety’s return
&
Killarney Musical Society will re-launch in September after three years off stage.
The group is hosting a launch night on September 2 ahead of a planned run of performances next March.
The plan is to create a musical with the best hits from the society’s past shows like Beauty and the Beast, Mama Mia and Matilda.
“A musical journey is our working title. Members have given their preference, auditions will give individuals the opportunity to perform a favourite and the production team will put it all together. This will all happen in early September. We haven’t been on stage since before COVID so we want people to know we’re back and can’t wait to spend time rehearsing again,” said PRO Linda O’Donoghue.
“Our producer Oliver Hurley and musical director Jimmy Brockie are eager to begin rehearsals in September. We will have our launch night on September 2. Members, past or present and anyone interested in becoming a member can come along. If you have itchy feet, enjoy singing or you would like to tread the boards this is the place to be.”
