5km of colour fun in Kilgobnet

By Michelle Crean
This weekend promises to be full of messy fun as children, parents and staff take part in a colour party!
Kilgobnet National School Parents Association are organising the 5km Family Colour Splash Run on Sunday (June 26) and everyone is welcome to come and join.
The circular 5km route will complete the final kilometres required for the children to reach the 42km goal set by the school, as part of the Health Promotion initiative.
Along the route, participants will be sprayed with colour at the various stations, along with a few other messy surprises to add to the fun!
Donations can be made on the day and there'll be refreshments, music, a raffle and a cake sale.
“The Colour Splash 5km, which is organised by our Parents Association, is an important fundraising event for our school," Marguerite Casey, Chairperson of Kilgobnet NS Parents Association, said.
"Everyone, from the school community and beyond, has a great time for a good cause.”
Maura O’Connor, Principal at the school, said that they're all excited about the event.
“It’s great to see the fun run going ahead again this year after a three year void due to the pandemic. We’re all looking forward to a great day!”
For anyone looking to get involved they said just come along from 1.30pm on the day and join in.
"Donations will be gratefully received."
