Free counselling sessions for all Kerry people

A national mental health charity has announced that all people from Kerry can avail of six free counselling sessions, run by mental health professionals.

Turn2Me stated that it is able to reach people across rural Ireland because all of its services are run through its website, Turn2Me.ie.

The charity is keen to support people suffering from anxiety, grief, depression or who just need a supportive online community from time to time. Turn2Me.ie is a safe, moderated online platform which runs 365 days a year.

“We are very keen to reach people from Kerry and to offer them free counselling sessions,” Fiona O’Malley, CEO of Turn2Me, said.

“People can avail of up to six free counselling sessions with us. The counselling sessions are conducted by fantastic, qualified mental health professionals, and they can be done via video format or via the chat function on our website, Turn2Me.ie. If people want to talk about pressures, stresses, anxieties or any frustrations they’re feeling, we’re here to listen, 365 days a year.”

As well as up to six free one-to-one counselling sessions, people from Kerry can sign up to the free support groups which Turn2Me run, including support groups on grief, anxiety, depression and relationship issues.

Gleneagle leads tributes to Glen Hansard

The Gleneagle Hotel and Arena has led local tributes following the tragic death of Irish music icon Glen Hansard, who passed away this week at the age of 56.


The former frontman of The Frames and Academy Award-winning songwriter died in a motorcycle accident in Dublin on July 29.

He had been due to perform a solo show at the Gleneagle Arena on Friday, November 6.


In a statement released by the venue, a spokesperson for the Gleneagle expressed deep sadness over the loss of the renowned artist.

They extended sincere condolences to his family, friends, and fellow musicians, noting that his music left a lasting mark on audiences around the world.


Tributes have poured in from across the Irish music industry, with the Irish Music Rights Organisation (IMRO) expressing profound shock at his sudden passing.

IMRO Chair Tom Dunne praised Hansard’s generational talent and his huge role in shaping the Irish music scene, from his early days busking on Grafton Street to his global success with “Falling Slowly”.

Icons of Irish pop culture heading to Gleneagle Arena

Two icons of Irish pop culture are set to share the stage in Killarney this autumn as football legend Roy Keane sits down in conversation with acclaimed author Roddy Doyle.

The duo will take to the stage at Gleneagle Arena for two nights on Friday, September 18 and Saturday, September 19.


Following the success of their bestselling autobiography collaboration, their previous joint live appearances in Dublin and Cork sold out rapidly.

The Killarney shows promise an evening of stories, personal insights, and trademark straight-talking conversation from Keane, guided by Doyle.
