Killarney hosts Youthreach Conference
Up to 80 people attended the two-day National Association of Youthreach Coordinators Conference at the Brehon Hotel last week.
Youthreach is a national training and education programme for early school leavers which offers a range of learning and training opportunities in centres across the country, provides students with tailored support and guidance in small class groups so that students can meet their educational potential and progress to employment and further and higher education.
“The Youthreach programme has been hugely transformative for so many of our students. The conference is an opportunity for Coordinator’s to network with industry experts and service providers in a meaningful way aimed at enhancing course provision and also addressing the issues that have been prominent tour centres in the past few years,” said Paul Cleary, Chairperson of the National Association of Youthreach Coordinators.
Niall Collins TD and Minister of State with responsibility for Skills and Further Education, addressed the conference on Wednesday while Simon Harris TD and Minister for Higher Education was the guest speaker on day-two.
Mayor Marie Moloney also attended the 28th annual event.
