Updates sought on street furniture fees
It is not clear yet if street furniture will be liable for fees under Planning and Development regulations.
Prior to the pandemic each outdoor table was liable to a fee of €125 per table. To encourage outdoor dining during the pandemic this was reduced to zero. However the planning permission for this move ran out on December 31.
“The Council has not been advised of any further regulations to adjust the prescribed street furniture fees beyond the period of December 31, 2021,” a council official told this week’s meeting of Kerry County Council.
The official was responding to a query by Cllr. Breandán Fitzgerald who asked: “that Kerry County Council provides a further exemption of fees for outside furniture to businesses for 2022”.
