Helen’s says farewell to Macbees
By Michelle Crean
Most will know her for her clothing advice - but after almost 50 years in fashion sales, Helen Flahive said goodbye to Macbees on New St.
48 years after she started learning the retail trade alongside Mary McBride (nee Crowley) in Crowley’s Killorglin, Helen decided it was time for a change and has retired.
Helen started in Crowley’s in 1973 and when Mary established Macbees in Killarney in 1984 Helen was entrusted to hold the fort in Killorglin.
Helen later joined Mary in Killarney where she was a valued, hard working and corner stone member of the Macbees team until last week.
"She will be sorely missed by customers and colleagues at Macbees but we suspect Helen is already planning her next adventure," Aoife McBride from Macbees said.
