Muckross Road reopened after fallen tree cleared
BLOCKED: A photo by National Parks and Wildlife Services Park Ranger William Hunt shows the danger on the Muckross Road as the fallen tree has become tangled in electricity wires.
By Sean Moriarty
Muckross Road was closed earlier today on the approach to the Muckross Park Hotel.
A tree had been blown over by Storm Barra and is blocking the road at the Muckross Abbey entrance to the National Park.
Killarney Gardai have confirmed that the road is re-open.
Kerry County Council and the ESB are aware of the incident.
“Electricity wires are tangled up in that one so ESB will have to attend,” a Council spokesperson told the Killarney Advertiser. “We can only clear these issues when it is safe to do so.”
