The Tralee-based garage was recently announced as the sole Toyota dealer for County Kerry.

On Sunday the family run garage organised a Toyota roadshow and open day at the Gleneagle Hotel so they could introduce themselves to their new customer base in Killarney.

The full range of 2022 Toyota cars were on display including the star of the show – Yaris Gazoo Racing – which dealer principal Tim Kelliher described “as a true classic of modern motoring with performance to beat a Ferrari with its diminutive 1.6 petrol engine”.

Mr Kelliher said that he and his five staff “were busy all day” and “surprised at the number people that turned up”.

So surprised in fact, that he apologised to the people he did not get a chance to speak to on Sunday.

“To everybody who called into the Gleneagle on Sunday, a huge thank you for what was a fantastic day for Kellihers, sincere apologies that we didn't get to talk to everybody,” he said. “We started to set up around 7am, and from before nine we had a constant flow of people up to 4.30pm or 5pm.”

Over the weekend Kellihers also announced a five-year associate sponsorship deal with Kerry GAA.

“The Kellihers love Kerry GAA, both hurling and football,” he added. “I remember going to the games in Croke Park in the 1970s and we [as a family] remain avid supporters of local GAA since.”

Everyone who participated in a Toyota test drive over the weekend is entered into a draw to win €2,000 off their new Toyota purchase.
