Killarney exhibition to feature artists’ landscapes
By Michelle Crean
Three Kerry based artists will show their inspiring landscape work in an exhibition opening today in town.
Olivia O'Carra, Dominika Piekarska O'Connell and Jessica Baron's work will feature in The Killarney Framer, on New Street until January 8.
Based in Killarney, Olivia loves to paint in a traditional manner building up in layers starting with fairly thin paint but gradually adding thicker paint.
Dominika, originally from Poland and has been living in Killarney for many years, is an emerging visual artist.
She captures the beauty of nature that surrounds her which she uses as inspiration for her landscape work using mostly oil and acrylics.
She is a regular Artist in Residence in Cill Rialaig Artist Retreat in Ballinskelligs and was recognised as the 'Emerging Artist of the Year 2020'. She participates in solo and group shows and art auctions, and her work is so popular that she is currently illustrating a children's book for a reputable book publisher.
Jessica is a contemporary visual artist, originally from Quebec in Canada now based in Ballydesmond. She launched her art business in 2016 selling original paintings.
"We will be featuring three different styles of landscape paintings from impressionist to realist," John Treloar from The Killarney Framer told the Killarney Advertiser.
"People are welcome to come and see the work. We are open Monday to Saturday from 10.30am to 5pm."
