John bids farewell to town council

He was one of the most familiar faces on the streets of Killarney but after 15 years of service, John McSweeney has retired from the street department of Killarney Municipal District.
John from Currow, retired on September 30.
He was a valued member of the Street Cleaning Department in Killarney Town throughout his service.
“John gave huge commitment, dedication and service to the town of Killarney by maintaining the streets and lanes to the highest standards,” a Town Hall spokesperson told the Killarney Advertiser. “Along with his colleagues past and present, he took great pride in the many awards and medals won by Killarney over the years. John had a cheery smile and a kind word for everyone as he went about his work day. All of his colleagues in Killarney MD wish John a long and happy retirement.”
