Mayor urges people to support county’s Olympians

The Cathaoirleach of Kerry County Council is asking everyone in the county to show their support for the three Kerry athletes who will participate in the Olympic Games which get underway in Japan next week.
Cllr Jimmy Moloney has extended best wishes to Killorglin rowers Monika Dukarska and Aileen Crowley as well as Ballyhar 20km walker, David Kenny, ahead of their participation in the Tokyo games.
“Monika, Aileen and David will be among the over 11,000 athletes taking part in the 2020 Games which begin next Friday. It is a tremendous achievement and honour for them to participate in the most prestigious of international athletics events,” Cllr Jimmy Moloney said.
“I am urging everyone in Kerry to show their support for Monika, Aileen and David over the next few weeks by sharing messages online and by flying the Kerry and the Irish flags. They may be on the other side of the world but everyone in Kerry will be cheering them on loudly.”
