Ban takeaway pints

Ban take away pints - says councillor
By Sean Moriarty
A Killarney councillor has called for the ban on the sale of takeaway alcoholic drinks.
Cllr Niall ‘Botty’ O’Callaghan says the anti-social behaviour associated with such sales is creating a bad image for Killarney.
O’Callaghan’s family run the Fáilte Hotel on College St but he confirmed that his business does not allow the sale of take drinks.
“If you want a drink, sit down and have it,” he said. “I am calling for the banning of takeaway pints. It looks terrible, greed cannot take over the quality of life. Families and the elderly deserve to be able to walk down the streets without meeting people who are drinking.”
