David’s visit a highlight of the school year!

Staff and pupils were delighted to welcome a special guest to their school earlier this week and the appearance coincided with a visit of little ducklings!

Kilcummin NS were thrilled to welcome Senior Kerry footballer David Clifford and the Fossa man was kept on his toes, and looked very comfortable holding David the Duckling!
David congratulated all of our Community Games participants and county winners, Eoin Foley from Fourth Class wo got a gold medal for music, First Class pupil Mia Lynch O’Doherty who got a bronze medal for art, and Junior Infant Fionn O’Donoghue who received a silver medal for art. David was also delighted to finally meet Fionn, who drew a picture for him late last year!
"Eoin Foley treated the school to an outdoor concert," Principal Gillian Sheehan told the Killarney Advertiser.
"Eoin’s classmate Daragh Keane, Peter Keane’s nephew, led his class as they sang 'Amhrán na bhFiann' to mark David’s visit and the successes of our students. We were delighted to be able to celebrate these magnificent wins with the Kerry superstar! David had a very busy schedule as he presented medals to our Junior Infants who held their Sports Day at Kilcummin GAA pitch last Friday. A huge thanks to David for being so generous with his time. It was one of the highlights of our school year!"

€1m EuroMillions win at Centra The Reeks

Celebrations are underway in Killarney after Centra at The Reeks Gateway on Tralee Road sold a EuroMillions ticket worth €1,005,000 in the Friday, August 21 draw.
The lucky winner secured the life-changing sum through the special Ireland Only Raffle event after purchasing a Quick Pick ticket on the day of the draw.
Store owner John Bowler, who has operated the shop for over 20 years, expressed his delight after receiving the news from the National Lottery.
“There’s a great buzz around the store and we’re absolutely delighted,” Bowler said. “We have a mix of local customers and visitors coming through our doors every day, so the winner could be anyone. While we’ve sold fantastic prizes over the years, this is by far the biggest. It’s wonderful news for Killarney.”
National Lottery spokesperson Emma Monaghan urged anyone who bought a ticket at the store on Friday to check their numbers carefully. The ticket holder is advised to sign the back of the ticket, keep it safe, and contact the National Lottery prize claims team to arrange collection.
