Proposed road closure between Rathmore and Barraduff

Kerry County Council is proposing to temporarily close the N72 Mallow Road between Barraduff and Rathmore as part of the on-going works at the area known locally as Stagmount Bends.
The local authority wants to close the road to all traffic from 8am on Monday May 17 until 5pm on Monday May 31.
“The proposed road closure will also expediate the project programme,” said a Council statement.
The proposed diversion will add considerable mileage for motorists who travel between Mallow and Killarney. Stagmount Bends are situated between Barraduff and Rathmore so the only viable alternative route is via Millstreet and Macroom in Cork. This route will be clearly signposted and can be viewed on www.kerrycoco.ie.
