Irish Water to complete works on Daly’s Roundabout

Deputy Michael Healy-Rae has welcomed a commitment by Darragh O’Brien Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage that Irish Water will complete works in advance of planned road upgrades for the stretch of road from Daly’s Roundabout to Ballyspillane - a road, which is also an important artery for a lot of East Kerry people who shop and work in Killarney.
“Design is underway for this section of water main," Deputy Healy-Rae said.
"Irish Water is aware that there are planned road upgrades for this area in 2021. Where possible Irish water strives to complete works in advance of any upcoming road works to minimise, disruption and to avoid digging up newly resurfaced roads.”
O’Brien wrote in a reply to Deputy Michael Healy-Rae following a series of questions the Kerry Deputy posed to An Taoiseach Míchéal Martin during leaders questions in the Dáil.
“This is most welcome, the surface of the road over the water mains can only be described as something like in Beirut from water breaks. The repair will allow Kerry County Council resurface this section of road which will also be most welcome."
