Council take advantage of quiet times to complete essential road works
By Sean Moriarty
Cllr Donal Grady has praised Kerry County Council after it honoured a promise to re-surface parts of New Street.
Lower New Street was repaired this time last year but there were issues with the finished product and Grady raised the matter at a Killarney Municipal District meeting earlier this year.
This week contractors took advantage of the lower levels of traffic in the town centre and, while the street was operating under a one-way system, completed the works in record time.
“Well done to the council and contractor for standing over their word,” he told the Killarney Advertiser.
