A hilarious show this year which brought plenty of laughs to the stage – also had a serious side as one panto group handed over €20,500 to local charity.

The Marian Players Rathmore recently staged ‘The Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe’ at Rathmore Community Centre, and have since donated the sum to the Kerry Parents Friends Association (KPFA) - bringing the group’s contribution to the charity to well over €350,000 to date.

It was the panto’s 33rd annual performance and with a superb group of actors, costume designers, stage setters, singers, dancers, musicians, lighting engineers, producers, proved a hit with audiences from far and wide

“A huge thanks to our audiences for their continued patronage of our endeavours, and, in fact, everyone who assisted in preparing this year's show,” Michael O'Mahony, PRO of Marian Players Rathmore Panto Group, said.

“A very special thanks to the committee and management of the Community Centre, Rathmore, and anyone else who helped in any way for their support since rehearsals commenced.”
