Gardaí in Killarney are keeping an open mind following the discovery of a man’s body in a house in Torc Terrace on Wednesday night.
Shortly after 10pm Gardaí received a report of a sudden death at a house in the quiet cul-de-sac towards the rear of Fitzgerald Stadium.
It is understood the man, who was in his 50s, is a native of Killarney and lived at this house for some time.
The scene remained preserved as the Killarney Advertiser went to press last night (Thursday).
Investigating officers are waiting on the results of technical examination by the local Scenes of Crime Unit.
The man’s remains were removed to University Hospital Kerry and a post-mortem examination was conducted yesterday afternoon.
“We are keeping an open mind,” Superintendent Flor Murphy told the Killarney Advertiser. “The results of the post mortem will determine the course of our investigation.”
