Listry GAA is hoping for one final push in an effort to reach its €100,000 fundraising target so the club can build a new sports hall alongside its playing pitches.
The club are around €30,000 short of their target so they have decided to run a Night at the Dogs Fundraiser at Kingdom Greyhound Stadium on November 9.
The club is currently enjoying a massive juvenile membership and now boasts nearly 120 under age players. Looking ahead, the mid-Kerry club wants to build a legacy for future generations so has set about the construction of a new indoor playing centre.
“Our under-age is the biggest we have seen in years,” Denis Murphy, Fundraising Committee Chairperson, told the Killarney Advertiser. “This being Ireland, in another few weeks it will be impossible to play outside until next March so this will allow us maintain interest all year round.”
Tickets for Listry GAA’s Night at the Dogs are available from Denis Murphy on 087 253 0630 or any club member, at a cost of €10 each.
