Legendary Killarney musician Liam O’Connor and family will take to the stage at one of Ireland’s biggest music festivals next week.
Liam has been confirmed to play in front of almost 60,000 music lovers at Electric Picnic, which also features Kodaline in this year’s line-up.
His daughter Saoirse (20) who sings and plays keyboard, his sons Oisin (18) who plays guitar and drums and Cillian (14) who plays the bodhran, will accompany him both Friday next (August 30) and Saturday (August 31) for a two hour set each day in Stradbally, County Laois, with support act Phelim Drew, Ronnie Drew’s son.
“It’s a great festival,” Liam told the Killarney Advertiser.
“It’ll be my second year playing there and it’s lovely to be part of it.”
Following that, Liam is set to play in Croke Park ahead of the All-Ireland Final between Kerry and Dublin on Sunday, September 1.
