M&S staff help keep town clean and litter free

Staff members from the Killarney branch of Marks and Spencer joined Killarney Tidy Towns in their efforts to make the town a cleaner and more welcoming place for the local community to enjoy.

The volunteer staff members took to the streets of Killarney washing away graffiti, picking up litter and painting public seating, as well as sprucing up the town bridge that leads into Killarney National Park.

The team also freshly painted the town benches, which are now free of graffiti.

Killarney Tidy Towns are a team of volunteers dedicated to maintaining a clean and safe environment in Killarney. Each year, they celebrate the best local efforts with the annual Killarney Looking Good Awards.

“We’re really proud to be coming together as a team to support Killarney Tidy Towns,” Paul Daly, Store Manager of M&S, said.

“At M&S Killarney we care passionately about supporting our local community. Volunteering can make a profound difference, and we believe that lots of small actions from lots of people creates a lasting impact to initiatives that do so much good for people in Killarney.”

Killarney Tidy Towns and M&S were connected to work together by Business in the Community Ireland.

“We are thankful to the staff of M&S Killarney for choosing to support Killarney Tidy Towns,” Johnny McGuire, PRO with Killarney Tidy Towns, said.

“We had lots of work on our agenda this year to make a difference to our town and the support of M&S Killarney is greatly appreciated.”
