The Killarney branch of the Kerry Hospice Foundation were this week delighted to receive a cheque from a recent ceili fundraiser.
On Monday, Ann Mangan and John Dineen from Torc Set Dancing Classes donated €700 which was raised at a ceili they organised on Monday, March 11 in the Torc Hotel.
And choosing the charity came from the heart, Ann explained to the Killarney Advertiser this week.
“It’s very close to my heart,” she said. “I’ve had personal experience with the local branch of palliative care. Their professionalism and kindness was superb, which was why I chose them.”
Pat Doolan, Chair of the Killarney branch of the Kerry Hospice Foundation, added that he and the Killarney branch are delighted to receive the funds.
“I’d like to thank Ann for her donation,” Pat said.
“She’s been a big supporter of the Killarney branch, especially during our fashion show when she modelled. I also want to thank all our supporters.”
And he added there are many more events coming up to support the Killarney branch of the Kerry Hospice Foundation, including the Vivien O'Shea/Sheila McGillycuddy Annual Good Friday Memorial Walk on Friday April 19, Sunflower Day on Friday June 7, the Bewley's sponsored Hospice Coffee Morning on Thursday September 19, and the ‘Models in Recovery’ annual fashion show in the INEC on Wednesday, September 25.
