With its thousands of acres of National Park, lakes and majestic mountains, the landscape around Killarney makes an ideal spot for a wellness retreat. With this in mind, The Killarney Park Hotel and Belief-Fit joined forces to create something special. A member of the Leading Hotels of the World, and voted TripAdvisor’s Best Hotel in Ireland in 2018, The Killarney Park is located in the centre of the charming town of Killarney and just a stone’s throw away from the breath-taking Killarney National Park. Owned and run by the Treacy family for the past 25 years, The Killarney Park is expertly managed by Niamh O’Shea and her team. Wellness and wellbeing have always played a central role at The Killarney Park Hotel. From yoga retreats and guided walking tours to the all-new Well-Fit escape, the hotel and its spa are a treat to be savoured after a day’s adventures.

Partnering with The Killarney Park Hotel on the retreat is Belief-Fit Boutique Gym. Husband and wife team Josie and Eric set up their fitness business in Killarney over five years ago. They pursued this dream having met in Dublin where both worked as managers in Campus Stadium Ireland – Ireland’s National facility for sports. They have 15 years’ experience working in the health and fitness industry and are passionate in this area, they compete in CrossFit and are both Life Coaches who believe that self care and self medication is the key to overall sustainable healthy living.

Belief-Fit’s vision is to bring people on a life and fitness journey to experience self-achievement, personal growth and development, and to bring out the best version of their clients, whilst having fun in the process.  This will transfer to Well-Fit.  They have always envisioned bringing a health and wellness retreat to Killarney and what better hotel to partner with in the heart of Killarney?

Speaking at the launch, Paul O’Neill, President of Killarney Chamber of Tourism & Commerce, said: “This is a great initiative by two Killarney businesses, recognising the national and international appeal of wellness tourism. By embracing the amazing natural asset that Killarney has to offer and combining it with best in class hospitality and fitness services, they will attract new visitors to our town and I wish them every success.”

Live from the Killarney Plaza: County Kerry lands its very own MONOPOLY board
The Killarney Advertiser is live at the Killarney Plaza Hotel & Spa this morning where the official announcement is underway that County Kerry is getting its very own customised MONOPOLY board.
“The Kingdom” is officially celebrating after beating five other counties across the island of Ireland—Donegal, Tipperary, Tyrone, Wexford, and Wicklow—to land the ultimate board game honours. Game makers Winning Moves, who produce the regional editions under license from Hasbro, reveal that Kerry ticked every single box based on three key factors: a sense of family values, civic pride, and sheer beauty.
More than 30 iconic County Kerry landmarks and organisations are set to feature on the bespoke board, with Killarney landmarks like the Killarney National Park and Muckross House already included for properties. The board sets will be uniquely themed to reflect local heritage, hospitality, castles, culture, tourism, and business.
Even the Chance and Community Chest cards are getting a complete Kingdom makeover. For example, players might find themselves sent back three spaces for driving the wrong way around Slea Head.
Speaking at the launch event, John Keen-Tomlinson, Partnership Manager at Winning Moves, says the team is going to be wonderfully spoilt for choice. While global favourites like the Ring of Kerry, Skellig Michael, Carrigafoyle Castle, and Gleninchaquin Nature Park are in the running, the public is being officially invited today to submit their own suggestions for what should make the final cut.
Welcoming the news, Pat O’Leary, Chair of the Kerry Tourism Industry Federation, says that the game reflects the high profile of Kerry’s long-standing welcome to visitors over many generations. He is urging the people of Kerry to get creative and submit their suggestions to the game makers, recommending a visit to www.discoverkerry.com for inspiration.
We are currently talking to the creators and gathering the local reaction at the Plaza.
Stay tuned for a full, comprehensive report and photo gallery from the launch event later today.
