Legion Street Leagues – The ‘Real’ Super 8s!
The inaugural Killarney Legion Street Leagues kicked off last week at Legion's grounds at Direen. This fun tournament is for juvenile members of the club aged 10-14.
Each team is comprised of a mix of age groups with equal numbers of boys and girls and age groups in each team. Brothers, sisters and neighbours play together in a league of 8 teams with exotic names such as the Bears, Panthers and Cheetahs.
The tournament has already been nicknamed 'the real super 8s' and will run throughout the summer months. Teams have a young mentor from our u16 teams on the sideline to guide their team through the competition. Coaches from the juvenile wing of the club are on hand to referee and adjudicate on any controversial 'hawkeye' decisions that may arise!
The kids can follow their team's progress on the fixtures section of the Legion website and at https://scheduler.leaguelobster.com/415672/street-leagues/2018/
