Busy summer for Gleneagle Concert Band
F
Festival-goers throughout Kerry will be tapping their feet to the delightful sounds of The Gleneagle Concert Band this summer.
"We will be performing at all the big festivals in Kerry during the summer - Killarney's 4th of July Festival, Puck Fair and The Rose of Tralee," said Conductor Vincent Condon.
"The 4th of July Festival in Killarney will certainly be a highlight for us as we will be joined by our good friends in The Blarney Brass and Reed Band for a massed band performance at 6pm on the Friday evening, July 3. This performance takes place on Main Street and we encourage everyone to come along to hear how fantastic the big band sound really is.
The band will perform a series of evening recitals on Main St in Killarney across June and July this year. The Gleneagle School of Music and Concert Band are currently recruiting new members for September. Children aged nine and upwards are invited to enrol and there are a limited number of instruments available free of charge on a first come first serve basis.
Established in 1981 The Gleneagle School of Music is renowned for excellence and provides a first class comprehensive and complete music education programme including one to one instrumental lessons, theory classes and various ensemble groups.
Adults with previous musical experience and former band members are also welcome to join the Senior Gleneagle Concert Band.
