The Chatroom – And The Oskar Goes To…
Award season is coming closer and closer as Killarney gears up for its first ever Oskars, which take place next Thursday, March 29 in the INEC. Kilcummin and Glenflesk GAA clubs have teamed up to host the event and excitement has reached fever pitch.
Seven very famous films, which have been shortened down to 8-10 minutes each and are starring local people from both clubs (some of whom have never acted before), will be debuted on the night and it will be the first time anyone (including the cast) will see the final finished film.
After the viewing, the much sought after Oskars will be handed out to the worthy winners after being decided upon by the A-list judging panel. In a twist, the Oskar for best overall film will be decided upon by the votes of the public who attend on the night! With this in mind we invited some of the stars, producers and organising committee into the Chatroom during the week to talk about the event. Derry Healy and Mish O’Donoghue were representing Glenflesk while Shane O’Callaghan and Niamh O’Dwyer flew the flag for Kilcummin.
