Gaelscoil claim Credit Union Quiz crown
T
The Credit Union Quiz is always a hotly contested event and 2018 did not disappoint in this regard. At chapter level, Lissivigeen Nation School and Gaelscoil Faithleann were to take first and second place respectively in the U-13 category with Scoil Bhríde Loreto and Cullina National School taking the spoils in the U-11 category. All of these four teams progressed to the next round which, after a small snow delay, was held on Saturday last in the Tralee Institute of Technology at 4.30pm.
With a very high standard on the day, the quiz finished in a tie break situation. Gaelscoil Faithleann came out the victors in the U-13 category and will travel to Dublin, on Sunday April 8, for the All-Ireland Final. The team members are Sinéad Olibhéar, Cameron Ó Rua, Daire Ó Briain and Adam Ó Súilleabháin.
This is the second year in a row that Gaelscoil Faithleann will be representing this district of the League of Credit Unions in the All Ireland Contest. Gaelscoil Faithleann have a proud tradition with the Tráth na gCeist, placing regularly and being crowned All-Ireland Champions in 2010. We wish them well on April 8.
