Killarney photographers honoured at Press Awards

The Press Photographers Association awards were held in Croke Park recently and talented Killarney photographers Don MacMonagle, Valerie O’Sullivan and Bryan O’Brien were all honoured at the event.
Don was awarded the 3rd place prize for his superb shot ‘Oh Christmas Tree’, which shows his granddaughter, Juno Hussey, picking out a Christmas tree.
Bryan O’Brien of the Irish Times, who is originally from Lewis Road, won first prize in the Multimedia category for his video ‘Cars Under Cover.’
Valerie O’Sullivan was also commended for her spectacular photograph ‘January Blues’, which shows a dog walker at Rossbeigh.
The overall award of ‘Press Photographer of the Year’ 2018 was presented to Cyril Byrne of The Irish Times. This year marks 40 years since the founding of the Press Photographers Association of Ireland.
