FAI chief executive John Delaney and Minister for Sport Brendan Griffin were guests of honour at Killarney Athletic AFC grounds this week.
As well as rolling out the red carpet for its guests on Saturday, the club welcomed the cash windfall the pair announced.
Killarney Athletic has received a grant of €40,000 which will go towards its all-weather training pitch. “Huge thanks again to the FAI and John Delaney for matching our initial Sports Capital Grant under Minister Brendan Griffin,” said club spokeswoman Mary McCarrick.
