Killarney woman gets surprise reminder of home on Kenya’s Ngong Hills
A
AS SHE enjoyed a trek on Kenya's Ngong Hills during the week, Triona Sheehy was faced with a gigantic reminder of her home parish.
Dominating the skyline over the hills was a crane from Fossa-based Liebherr Container Cranes. "I was very proud to see that Fossa was so well represented!" said Triona who is looking forward to travelling home for Christmas next week.
The primary school teacher has been working in Kenya where she has volunteered many times over the years as part of the Kenya Education Project.
The Ngong Hills featured in the 1985 movie Out of Africa and are often used by Olympic athletes as a training ground.
