Branch out to remember loved ones this festive season
A
ALWAYS one of the most appealing aspects of the festive season in town, the Killarney Memory Tree will be back for the 2017 Christmas season.
Lights are lit on the tree, on New Road, to commemorate loved ones who will also be remembered in a special Mass.
The official switch-on will take place on New Road on Monday, December 18, at 7pm and all are welcome.
Lights can be ordered in memory of a loved one for a suggested donation of €5 and all proceeds will go to Holy Cross Mercy School, New Road. “The Memory Tree will then be lit between nightly until January 6, the Feast of the Epiphany. Mass will be offered for all those commemorated at 1.30pm on Wednesday, December 20, in St Mary’s Cathedral at our school’s Christmas Mass. All are welcome to attend,” said Rhonda Healy of Holy Cross Mercy NS.
“Lights are available from local shops, Holy Cross Mercy School, staff members of Holy Cross Mercy School and members of the school’s parents’ association. Thank you for your support.”
