Fifty thousand euro raised to bring Anthony home

THE communities of Killarney and Kilcummin have been devastated by the tragic death of Anthony O’Sullivan, who passed away on Sunday in Sydney, Australia.
A group of the popular young man's friends came together to set up a Go Fund Me page to raise much-needed funds to bring Anthony home to rest and also to donate to the charity The Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust.
The Go Fund Me page went live on Tuesday evening and by yesterday evening it had raised €40,000. It has since reached €50,000.
Anthony, who passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on Sunday night, is the son of Paddy and the late Sheila O’Sullivan from Ballinamangh in Kilcummin and one of seven brothers.
“As we all know, Anthony was a great character and we would like to show our support to the O'Sullivan family at this very difficult time,” stated Anthony’s friends.
Kilcummin GAA Club, with which Anthony was a former underage player, is among the many organisations and individuals to lead heartfelt tributes to the popular young man. “We extend our deepest condolences to his father Paddy and brothers Brendan, Patrick, Killian, Stephen, Darragh and Enda at this difficult time,” it stated.
