Killeen on a par with the best
T
THE Killeen course at Killarney Golf & Fishing Club has been awarded the ‘Best Parkland Course in Ireland’ at the Ireland Golf Tour Operator Association (IGTOA) awards.
The gala ceremony, which took place at Trump International Hotel and Golf Links, Doonbeg, on Monday, was part of an annual National Golf Tourism Conference and is the largest gathering of Irish Golf Tourism professionals from all areas of the industry.
“The award is in recognition of the investment and conditioning program that has been carried out on Killeen over the past four years and is a great accolade ahead of the club’s celebration of its 125th anniversary next year,” said Cormac Flannery, general manager, Killarney Golf & Fishing Club.
“Further course development projects are also planned for the club’s courses over the coming months.” He paid tribute to head greenkeeper Enda Murphy and his team.
