Making the French connection

LAST Saturday morning, forty-five transition-year and fifth-year students from St Brigid’s Presentation Secondary School, accompanied by five staff members, flew to Paris for a four-day trip.

The group visited Montmartre on Saturday afternoon. After many steep and cobbled streets, they reached the Basilica of Sacre-Coeur, sampled the many different crepes on offer and took in the breath-taking views. The students then enjoyed a boat tour on the Seine on Saturday evening.

On Sunday, the group visited the Louvre museum to see the infamous Mona Lisa before proceeding to the Notre-Dame Cathedral. Killarney Advertiser heard that the pigeons surrounding the Notre-Dame were a big hit with the students! The Eiffel Tower was the final stop on Sunday evening.

Disneyland was the destination on Monday. The group spent their day between Walt Disney Studios and Disney’s theme park. The day concluded with the illuminations show, which marked the 25th anniversary of Disneyland Paris.

Forty-five sad faces greeted the staff members on Tuesday morning as the group set off for Charles de Gaulle airport to fly home. It was described as the trip of a lifetime and was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
