HE LED his team to glory in the All-Ireland Minor Football Final and at the weekend David Clifford was crowned Electric Ireland GAA Minor Star Footballer of the Year. This evening the Kerry minor captain and Fossa man will join forces with fellow Kerry football legend Aidan O'Mahony for a star turn on the catwalk in the Europe Hotel & Resort.

Dedicated followers of fashion have converged on the five-star venue for what is one of the main style events on the calendar. Now in its 28th year, the Fossa Fashion Show is always an excellent fundraiser for a variety of organisations in the parish.

It is organised by a team including husband and wife James and Claire Houlihan and Tim Kissane, who have been involved in the event since its beginning.

James and Tim came up with the idea when they were youth leaders in Fossa Youth Club. “The first fashion show took place in the old church in Fossa and the funds raised that year were for the youth club,” said James.

Subsequent fashion show benefited the new church, local historical society, community centre, playschool, new school and new community centre.

The best-dressed lady prize will be sponsored by Keane’s Jewellers, Killarney, while a number of raffle prizes and a door prize will also be up for grabs.
