Killarney medallists are fighting fit
T
THE North American Grappling Championship NAGA came to Ireland last weekend and Straight Blast Gym (SBG) Killarney was well represented. Nine SBG Killarney members, together with representatives from over 20 countries, battled it out in Dublin for the coveted NAGA Championship belt.
The team of fighters competed at all levels from beginner to expert. The return for their hard work and eight weeks’ preparation was an impressive – one bronze, nine silver, two gold medals and one NAGA Championship belt in expert division.
The club is growing and has a new 10-week beginner’s programme in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu starting on Monday, September 25, from 7pm to 9pm. The club is located opposite TK Maxx on Main Street. “The coaches invite anyone who is interested to come along to the first night for a free introduction class,” said Mark O’Brien of the club.
