Wanted: Memories of Killarney House
D
DO YOU remember John and Mary McShain and Sr Pauline? Do you remember Beatrice Grosvenor or Lord Castlerosse? If you have memories or stories about Killarney House or if anyone from your family lived or work on the Killarney Estate or in the house, you will be interested to know a special “memories collection day” will take place in Killarney House next Saturday, September 23, from 11am to 4pm.
Manager Pat Dawson said: “In 2018, Killarney House will fully reopen to visitors and as the House and Gardens is in the very heart of Killarney we want to celebrate the people who worked and lived here, as well as the community of this great town and why it is such a special place to live in.”
He added: “We’d love to hear your stories and maybe share them with the people who will visit Killarney House in the coming years.” On Saturday, September 23, volunteers will take details of your stories and artefacts.
