Killarney ladies tee up for All-Ireland success

AN ALL-IRELAND title could be on the horizon for the Killarney Golf Club ladies senior team which is teeing up in the Royal Curragh Golf Club in Kildare this weekend for the All Ireland Senior Cup Finals.
This morning began with the quarterfinals and successful teams will progress in the afternoon to the semi-finals, with the final taking place tomorrow morning.
The five district final winners are Killarney, Royal Portrush, The Heath, The Island and Roscommon. They are joined by the three of the district runners – up; Royal County Down, Lahinch and 2016 champions Kilkenny.
Highest ranked in terms of combined handicap, the Killarney team includes internationals Mairead Martin and Valerie Clancy as well as senior international Mary Sheehy and Munster Interprovincial Kelly Brotherton. Clare Keating, Eimear O’Donnell, Anne Moynihan and lady captain Amy Arthur make up the team who will represent Killarney Golf & Fishing Club today. “The manager, Mary Geaney, team and the entire ladies club at Killarney Golf & Fishing club would like to sincerely thank their very generous sponsors which include Frankie Coyne from the International Hotel, Micheal O’Donoghue, Killarney Plaza Hotel, Con Stack, Tricel, and Pat Chawke, O’Reilly Hotels,” said a spokesperson for the club.
