Seven people dead following last night’s terror attacks in London
S
SEVEN people have been killed and an estimated 50 injured in a terrorist attack in central London. It is understood that three attackers were involved in the attack after a white van struck pedestrians on London Bridge at around 10pm last night. The attackers were shot dead by police.
Sky News reported: “From 10.08pm, police responded to reports of a vehicle hitting pedestrians. Paramedics and specialist response teams arrived in six minutes, the London Ambulance Service said. At least 48 people were taken to five hospitals across London.”
The attack follows a similar incident in March at Westminster Bridge and comes less than a fortnight after the suicide bombing that killed 22 people at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester.
Speaking to media outside Scotland Yard this morning, Metropolitan Police Commissioner Cressida Dick said: "Last night we saw another appalling and tragic incident in London - something we hoped we would not see again."
British Prime Minister Theresa May condemned the attack and said the strategy for dealing with terrorism needed to be reviewed.
