Strong winds and gusts in store for afternoon and evening

Kerry County Council has advised people to take precautions ahead of strong winds and gusts which are forecast for Kerry this afternoon and evening.
Met Éireann has extended the period during which the Status Orange wind warning is in place to 4am tomorrow.
There are also warnings of exceptionally high waves in coastal areas reaching heights of up to 15 metres. This Status Yellow warning is in place until 4am tomorrow also. Exposed coastal areas should be avoided.
The local authority is asking property owners to be conscious of items and hoardings which are vulnerable to high winds and urges motorists to take care on roads today and tonight.
