LITTLE Mary Kate Healy passed away 10 years ago when she was just over a year old but her memory lives on in her native Killarney and beyond. Mary Kate has inspired numerous fundraisers over the past decade which have benefited the healthcare of many other children and now her family and friends are organising a fashion show.
“Once Upon a Runway” is the theme of the event, which will be staged at the five-star Muckross Park Hotel next Thursday, March 30. “Mary Kate passed away when she was just over a year old from a liver condition called biliary atresia,” said a spokesperson for the family. “The proceeds of this entire fashion show will go towards medical research in Our Lady's Children’s Hospital in Crumlin.”
This stunning designer showcase will be produced by the Norma O’Donoghue Model Agency and will feature well-known award-winning designers and milliners and leading boutiques from around Ireland. There will be prizes for the best-dressed lady as well as very enticing spot prizes.
Guests will be treated to Champagne and canapés on the red carpet on arrival and will enjoy top-class entertainment at the after-party in the Winter Bar. The drinks reception is at 7pm, with the fashion show commencing at 8pm. Tickets, €30, are available by contacting Liz, 087 2482844, Sheila, 087-9663570, or Mary, 087-2267621.
