ONE of the most successful and sought-after health and fitness trainers in Ireland, Brian Keane will host a seminar in Killarney on Saturday, April 1.

The Aquila Club in the Gleneagle Hotel will be the venue for the event where Brian will also take centre stage for a Q&A session.

Brian has over 40,000 followers on Instagram and a following of over 56,500 on Facebook. His podcast is currently the number one-rated health and fitness podcast in Ireland and the UK. Brian has worked with numerous GAA clubs and intercounty players to help improve sporting performance and physique. His very popular GAA Lean Body Programme combines nutrition, training, supplements and recovery.

“I designed this programme with the 19-year-old me in mind, it’s for the guy or girl who want to look great and play great. When I started training first, I didn’t realise the importance of training correctly for sport, I didn’t know how to eat properly for a leaner physique. I had no idea how to use supplements to make me a better athlete and massively speed up my recovery and I thought recovery meant just stretching after training. This programme is designed to allow you to look lean, athletic, toned and perform better than you ever have previously,” said Brian.

Brian also focuses on transformation programmes which specialise in getting people into shape, reducing anxiety and building energy levels though nutrition and high intensity training sessions that can be done at home or in the gym.

Refreshments will also be served at the event. Tickets, €25, include a day pass to the Aquila Club. Group discounts are available. The seminar takes place between 10am and 1pm. For more information or to book phone 064-6634063/064-6636178.

Passengers using TFI Local Link Kerry services in Killarney and across the county can now pay for their journeys using contactless card payments.

The National Transport Authority (NTA) confirmed the rollout this week, allowing commuters to simply tap their debit card, credit card, or mobile devices, such as Apple Pay and Google Pa, when boarding.

The move is designed to offer more convenience for those using high-frequency rural and regional routes.

In Killarney, the new payment option will be available on the TFI Anseo town services, which have seen a significant increase in passenger numbers since their introduction.

The contactless system is currently available for single journey fares, while those using daily or weekly passes can continue to use the Leap website or the TFI Leap Top Up App.
Alan O’Connell, General Manager of TFI Local Link Kerry, welcomed the modernisation of the fleet.

“The introduction of contactless payments is another welcome step forward for public transport in Kerry,” he said. “It complements other major projects in the county, including the expansion of TFI Local Link services and the delivery of TFI Anseo in Killarney, which is proving to be another great initiative.”

While the new technology offers a modern alternative, traditional payment methods are not being phased out. Cash payments, TFI Leap cards, and Free Travel Cards all remains fully valid across the network.
